Favorite Kids Photos Blog Hop

This week's "Blog Hop" theme is "Your Favorite Kid Photo". I have been so busy with CIJ that I forgot about this until a few minutes ago. So, I haven't given this much thought and just grabbed for a couple of photos that I thought of off the top of my head. Jadehollow is hosting this great event and I didn't want to miss out on Favorite Kid's Photos.

This photo is of my DD Tracie last month when she went to see George Strait at the new Cowboy Stadium in Arlington with a group of girls. They were leaving the parking lot and drove by a rather cute guy in a cowboy hat and Tracie hollared, "I want your hat!" They were moving at a snail's pace and were all leaning out the windows. He came over and gave her this hat. It looked like he had just bought it and he told her that he wanted her to keep it. I bet by morning he was wondering what he did with the hat!

Pink Cruise Wear

Welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound. I missed last week and am glad to be back. I was here as a spectator, just not as a participant. I have been busy setting up a new blog. Most of you know me from my Playing Dishes blog and some of you through my Christmas Memories in My Heart blog. Since both of those are devoted mainly to dishes and tablescapes and Christmas, I was having problems fitting in all the fun things in blog land. I was constantly having to shift posts up and down so that the correct thing was at the top of the blog.

So, my new blog Memes for Me was born! This one is devoted to all the daily and weekly fun events that I enjoy. There is not theme or subject to follow and I can choose to add or delete things on any given day. I am so happy that I thought of this.

So, now on to PINK things that I LOVE!

In fact, this is one of the people I love the most---my daughter Tracie. She went on a seven day cruise a couple of weeks ago and I found these three photos on the computer from the trip. Tracie used to say that she didn't like pink because I was so into it. But, she sure wears it a lot and even has a substantial amount of it in her decor!


This young lady in pink is one of Tracie's best friends, Nikki. They were ready for a shore excursion in these photos.

Here is the entire crew at Margaritaville on one of the shore excursions. I just love the pink Mexican hats. I would love to have one like this for my cantina screened back porch.

I am sure that they were shouting that PINK IS FABULOUS!

Giant Wind Turbines Against the Sunset

I love this shot of the wind turbines and the Texas sunset. I am totally fascinated by these graceful giants and caught this shot outside of Big Springs, TX in January as the sun was fading.

A New Blog for Me

You'd think that the last think that I need is another blog, since I already have Playing Dishes that keeps me very busy and my holiday one, Christmas Memories in My Heart that is devoted to my love of Christmas 24/7. In fairness, the Christmas blog is active only on the Rudolph Day on the 25th of each month, the entire month of July for CIJ, and from Thanksgiving through the first of the year. But, still it takes a lot of time for this labor of love.

However, my reasoning for making another blog, is to simplify my life!

I have become a bloggie addict and just love all of the parties and special days and event posts. However, I have found that they sometime interfere with what I am doing on my Playing Dishes site and I have to work really hard to keep things running smoothly.

So, I decided to start a blog that is devoted to all the fun things that I enjoy in blogging that are not dish related. As you can see, the name of this new blog is Memes for Me. It will be used for all the wonderful and fun events that sometimes have no real purpose except for enjoyment or to make us reflect on something. Click on the link to understand exactly what is a meme? The Daily Meme gives a great explanation of this blog term.

I always encouraged my high school students to read and write as much as they could. I reminded them that you can only gain knowledge by seeking it and that it didn't matter what you wrote or what you read as long as you were doing it on a regular basis.The outcome would result in a better person. Very few people remain satisfied with reading or writing only shallow or surface material and usually expand their horizons. Thus, blogging is a great activity.

I hope to meet some new friends on this endeavor. I love all of my friends on my other blogs, but we tend to visit the same places over and over. Here, I plant to branch out often and try new memes.
